You are talking about Thomas Cannell b c1839 living 58 Edinburg St, Liverpool?

In 1861 there is a Thomas Cannell, b c1839, baker, visiting John Carran, shoemaker. This looks like a good match. Maybe on the death certificate the children (who probably gave the information) got their grandfathers muddled.

The Thomas that Frances has identified, his father Thomas was a farmer at Ballaskelly in the 1841 and 1851 censuses, not a shoemaker. Can't seem to find the son Thomas in 1851.

I would be interested in learning more about your tree. There are three lines of Cannells in my tree, and I am struggling to go back further than around 1750. Do you have your tree online anywhere?
