You have a bit of a challenge with Far(a)gher and Malew. To see how many heads of household before 1840/41 is a challenge.. The following Directories are on Frances's site:
1823 Pigot's
1837 Pigot's
1843 Pigot and Slater's
1846 Slater's
1852 Slater's
I would work on the 1841/51 census quite heavily and make sure you have got everything out of them. Don't forget to draw out the enumeration areas to pin down where each household was.. You can also try the Tithe Commutationm Book for 1840 although Malew is not well covered. Don';t forget to look at ther sub-tenants although this doesn't catch ag. labs.
Before this you need to look at all the wills and scour the PRs, but look for things like confirmations if they are listed.
The index of presentments is a new source whichc would repay a look.
