My father's family is descended from John Harrison, born 23 May 1847, Rose Cottage, Andreas. His father was Thomas Harrison who married Mary Caine on 27th April 1847. John worked as a joiner in Manchester and the family believe he was a foreman at Kneale's there.
He later moved to the Barrow shipyards where my grandfather Arthur was born, before returning to the island to die at the age of 40.
This confirms the ref to Dugdale believing descendants of Thomas still exist in the amazing post from 2006 which I have just found. Many thanks to Sue, Jane Marshall and anyone else involved in this investigation.
