Thanks Sue. I knew he was a widower in 1851 but had missed the fact that he was already widowed when he married Martha Thompson in 1833. I have not yet managed to get access to Henry Kelly's will of 1882 but you are right, it might give some insight into what happened to his daughter, Ann Kelly. As far as Martha Thompson is concerned, I have found no evidence of her in Liverpool or Whitehaven which is where Henry tended to sail to from Castletown and therefore which seems to be the most likely place for her to have hailed from.
