Emma, read that you had found a death record in the Lunatic asylum. Did you sent off for this ? I have a Laura May Kelly died aged 70 in 1953 - my grandfather's only sister of whom I know nothing, having heard nothing about her whilst I was growing up. Buried in Malew (somewhere?) but died Braddan which made me think it could have been Ballamona. I feel so sorry for this great aunt being seemingly left alone after her mother died. In those days anyone with quite slight mental handicaps could have been placed in an institution. Are records kept at the museum for people institutionalised ?
