As Sue wrote below under "Lonan & Onchan wills" I have been photographing the wills films left by Brian Lawson at our Family History Centre, which he used to establish his wills index and web access to full transcripts of IOM Wills. I have focused on the period from 1700 to 1800, and on nine parishes: Lonan; Conchan; Santan; German; Jurby; Andreas; Bride; Lezayre; Maughold. Of the over 100 films originally brought in, 45 have been photographed, and about 20 transcribed. We are under a timeline to film the Wills before they are returned to Salt Lake City. Many have been returned already.
Ian Radcliffe has provided a place to mount wills until such time as it is possible to load them onto the main FHS site. He has uploaded 1050 of my transcriptions on his website, and, in my efforts to film and transcribe wills, I have accumulated several hundred more transcriptions.
When doing my own research it was frustrating to have to check two sites along with the many transcriptions that I have filed in my own system. In an effort to make my own research easier, I have established a website very much directed at my own interests, sort of a “one stop shopping” site, where all of Ian’s wills, some of Brians, and all of my own unpublished will transcripts are listed for quick access.
The site may be of use to others, crude as it is, so if interested click the following link:
