This Vicar at Lonan Parish church was possibly "unique" in the way he filled in the Marriage Register. He commented on the financial circumstances of his parishioners.
Miners were always ,I think , recorded as being in moderate circumstances because mining was dangerous work & therefore had just a little higher wages. Some died falling
down the mine shaft or were crippled or died young of lung disease. Farm labourers were listed as being in poor circumstances----lower wages.
