You view the films in any of the LDS Family History Centres worldwide, usually for a month, after ordering it and paying a small fee. They let you order several at a time. See your local phone book under "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints", Family History Centre (or genealogy). Everyone is welcome, and the staff are usually very helpful.
You could try ringing first and asking when they open the FHC for non-members. Our local one used to open 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. on 4 days, plus one evening (unfortunately closed when church membership dropped). They ring you when your film arrives and you can book a reader for times which suit you. There are also many free resources held there permanently: films, fiche, CDs, and online sources like Ancestry.

It is a good idea to get the film numbers first - see Catalog on Familysearch.org online - but if you don't have them the volunteer staff will help, and also with loading films, etc. I put a list of LDS film numbers for b/m/ds on this board - will try to find.

Note that most filmed registrations end in 1900/01 although the indexes continue. You need the index to find the certs., and I found quite a few page errors (although eventually found).

As a matter of interest, when Brian Lawson compiled his marriage and birth indexes he used the full registration certs, not the indexes.
