Last night I traced a female line, from Ellen Clague, through her grandparents, Paul Kewley's wife Isabel Cannon, daughter of John Cannon,'of the Airy' living in K. Michael. Born 1719.

In November 1717 John Cannon married Mary Corlet, in Ballaugh. She was daughter of Thomas Corlet, Ballakaig, baptised 1695. John died 1723.
Mary then married John Fail of Braddan.

Thank you Frances for Thomas Corlett's full will transcription, which I was reading at midnight! Then started reading Some Notes on Parish of Ballaugh, and extracts from Parish Regs.

Just wondered if anyone had any more modern info on Ballakaig, e.g. What happened to the estate? Is it near the coast?
Weather permitting I'd like to have a wander round there next week. Are there any public footpaths? And can I run my dogs on the beach?
