A relative working in service in England became pregnant and returned to the Island to have the baby in 1908. The boy lived then with his gandparents until the age of 12 when he went to live with his mother in England.

At that date would the Church or the State have become involved over this situation. I can't see that there is anyway to trace the father unless there was some process for claiming money off him.
