Dear Ms. Jacki,
I have not been on for quite some time, I put on the site the names listed that would have a Quaker background, I did not see Mann, if you look back under my old post you will see the list, but with all things, anything is possible for there are books that have history of the Quakers on the Isle of Mann and there is a Quaker Society in Peel. You may have to go there to get the history of the name you are asking about. I do know that the Quakers here have records, so may request through their society in United States if you are from here. I had a CORLETTE interest,in it ,due to data that a CORLETTE was a QUAKER. So the MANX names have many Quakers converts, even so some state otherwise. They were persecuted beyond belief on the Isle, because of their beliefs, which went against the Bishop, look back into my old post and you will get the whole picture of the Quaker movement. Frances Coakley has in her Manx Notebook in the menu above on this site much on the Quakers, so you should go there and read her data. I hope this will help. We have been trying to get to the Isle for 7 years now, was in Leicester in 2006. after bringing mother over, for she had not been home in 60 years, we were at the train station to head out, she had fallen in the B AND B we were staying in, needless to say, we did not make it to the Isle, and we have had our share of maladies since that year, but we have reset for OCTOBER, she passed away in February, but we are trying again, most likely shall be our last try, age catches up and you must learn your limits of what the old body can take.
Kindly yours,
Mrs Rosa
