Thank you again Averil, for your interest.
In an Ancestry family tres, there is a Conway/Mann Family tree- and these are indeed families linked to the marriage of Frances "Clarke" to Philip Henry Quayle, but the dates do not seem to tie up with the fact of the wedding between these two-which we know to be correct.
In this tree they have Frances Shimmin in 1916, when she was a Clarke widow, in the 1916 Canadian Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, as resident in Stephen, Boinsaire.
Would she have travelled back to the Island during the war to marry? Also why is she not Frances Clarke- she was when she married on the Island in June of 1916?
They do have lots of family photographs, that tie in with what I know of the family; I have tried to contact the "owner" but no response so far.
Thanks for your help Averil, it is much appreciated. Colin
