Thank you for the marriage particulars Viv; I agree, the names of the 2 witnesses confirm the marriage. It would appear then, that Brian mis-transcribed Jessie's surname in his index.
I have 8 children listed, Cissie May, Ethel, Jessie Mona, Gladys Mabel, Frances Esther, Robert Stanley, James and Lilian - unable to locate the 9th child. As well, Ethel who is entered on the 1911 census as 15 years old (dob 1896) is not on the 1901 census with her parents and Cissie and Gladys. If she was staying with someone else in 1901, I have not been able to find her. Cissie's dob is also 1896 - was Cissie a nickname for Ethel? If so then I have only 7 children listed.
Often the person responding to the enumerator misunderstood and believed he/she should indicate all the children in the family - even if they were not present in the home at the time. Also, I have even seen mention of the person answering the questions not aware that one of the family had left the premises and was visiting elsewhere. So, yes it is very possible to be entered on the same census at 2 different residences.
