I have inherited a collection of colour slides of the Isle of Man. One of these, from June 1982, has an RAF Rescue helicopter in front of a building with the name Point Hotel on it. It is not very elegant, square with a few bays, and a flat roof. Nearby are some cottages. In the next slide the RAF team are abseiling down a steep rock slope to the sea, to get to someone in difficulty, unless it was a training exercise.
Searching the Internet leads me to conclude that the Point Hotel is no longer in existence. Can anyone say where it was and how long it lasted?
