I had meant to add this earlier but needed to check my copy - there is a lavishly illustrated book "Manx Traditional Furniture" by Bernard D Cotton (ISBN 0-901106-34-8 pub 1993 - the museum shop was disposing of spare copies earlier in year but probably still has some but very heavy so postage will be expensive) which is a catalogue of the furniture collections of MNH - pp224-241 are concerned with spinning wheels - photo of Emy Quilliam(Rushen) in 1880 commences the series of photos of probably 20 wheels
