I did not know the family, but to add to what Bill has posted:-
Eddie Pitt as a young man with straight black brylcreemed hair worked as a grocery assistant.
This was at Pegrams (pronounced Peagrams) Ramsey branch in the 1950s.
If memory serves this was on the corner of Water and Peel streets.
