when for reasons as yet technically unexplained my original search function was deemed unacceptable after some 10+ years of use it was replaced by one involving Google - Google it seems removed(updated) that search mechanism and replaced with a new one that requires javascript - this means of course that Google now can invade more privacy on your browser than the old one search mechanism allowed - however MT have now provided a working search which restores much of the functionality of MNB for which I am grateful but since I generally browse without javascript enabled I can't test for any problems. The use of client-side Javascript can offer some features unavailable otherwise but it also brings with it the possibility of misuse for less worthy aims - many trojans, viruses etc use it to gain entry - it also allows tracking by many third parties of your web activities - remember the USA has virtually no privacy laws and Google et al(and esp Facebook) often find themselves in EU courts for assuming that EU laws regarding privacy for some reason don't apply to them.
