Hello - Is anyone interested in the above Cowley Family. I have Robert Cowley born c. 1815 who married Catherine Lord at Braddan 1840. They had four children
Robert 1841: Margaret Jane 1842: Christiann Elizabeth 1844: William Henry 1846: Sadly Robert Cowley Snr died 1845 aged only 29 years.
Catherine Cowley, then married John Curphey 1850 in Douglas, and they then went to Liverpool.
Robert Cowley Snr was a Tailor in Douglas.
I know there was a family also in Douglas, and anothere Robert Cowley who was also a Tailor.......who married Margaret......
Whether there is a connection there, I don't know.
