To Reverend Thomas Stephen one of the vicar generals of the Isle of Man.
The humble petition of Isabella Cretney widow and executor of the last Will and Testament of Robert Cretney of Marown late deceased..
Order petition heard on 17th February at Ballayaree Marown.
In the name of God Amen. I Robert Cretney of the parish of Kirk Marown being feeble in bodily strength but of a sound mind memory and understanding during the making hereof and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life and in order to settle and dispose of such wordly goods as God of his grace has been pleased to bestow upon me. I do hereby make this my last Will and Testament in the manner following. This 17th day of December 1816.
Firstly I commit my soul to God and my body to christian burial at the discretion of my executor herein after named.
I do leave and bequeath unto my son Robert Cretney the sum of five shillings.
I do leave and bequeath unto sons Thomas Cretney. James Cretney and Joseph Cretney the sum of thirty pounds a piece and all my clothing when they do arrive to the age of twenty four years.
I do leave and bequeath unto my two daughters Isabella Cretney and Catherine Cretney the sum of fifty pounds a piece when they come to the age of twenty four years and neither of them to have “Intreys”. But the principle sum only when they come to the before mentioned age.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my dear wife Isabella Cretney alias Faragher for to be my whole and sole executor of the rest of all my goods and effects moveable and immovable of whatsoever or denomination whatsoever and this to be my last will and Testament. Signed Robert Cretney
