Many thanks for the info re Henry Higgs' children. His next child was born in transit to Australia and the last 3 were born in New South Wales. Does anybody know his purpose for being in IOM in the years following his marriage in Worcestershire, England in 1855 and his embarkation aboard the Parsee, arriving in Sydney on 14/9/1859. We know that he was a Harness Maker and Saddler by trade and we wonder if this occupation was the reason for his stay on the Island. Would he have had to return to England to enable him to Immigrate to Australia?
