I along with my cousin Keith Faragher are looking for any people with the Manx surname of Fargher/Faragher to consider taking a Y-DNA test to further our research
into our Isle of Man ancestors. The testing would be done by Family Tree DNA, a genetic testing company based in the USA see website at www.familytreedna.com
The results could form part of the Manx Y-DNA project run by John Creer. See details at www.manxdna.co.uk
I would be willing to contribute towards the cost of testing. I am particularly interested in contacting any male descendants of the two following Fargher branches namely descendants of Thomas Fargher and Margaret Kelly who married at Patrick in 1775 and descendants of a Thomas Fargher and Joney Callow of Maughold.
From the latter group and through a contact made many years ago there may be
Fargher descendants living in Oregon and Illinois, USA.
