Yes, no women's rights in the earlier records. Both my parents were listed in the browse for marriages but I know just my grandfather was listed for his marriage so it was hard to find a wife for the men. I'm also hoping that the 'browse ' pages will come back although some were quite dark . Some of the registrars had super handwriting whilst others had dreadful so maybe some one is trying to decipher all the dark bits plus the poor handwriting to make it easier for us to use.
