Quiggin(s) IOM 1600's?

I received a request for possible IOM info re Quiggin(s). I don't know anything about this line so early but thought there might be some Quiggin searchers on the message board who do.
I have the permission of the asker to post this note with the info she gave me.
I am posting this only to assist this person and am not acting as a professional genealogist!

The family was in the Barbados in the 1600s, then to Virginia and Maryland USA.
The earliest record known about the specific family is a marriage between John Quigging and Joane Bishop in 1678, Christchurch Barbados. They had at least two children, Catherine (1682) and William (1684)
John Quiggins is listed on the Barbados tax list for 1679 having 12 acres and 6 Negroes and are listed as "Persons of Quality" in the Hotten volume on Barbados settlers. While they did not own large plantations, they were not indentured, and 12 acres is a fair sized piece of land on a small island. In addition, William came on a ship to Virginia in 1711 as a landowner. Later their slaves were listed (Quigan?) as owned by a Mr. Rose so it is believed that they sold out to move to Virginia and Maryland.

Sound familiar to anyone?
