Wondering if anyone has any information on Nicholas George Uren b. Abt 1856 and his wife "Emily" from Lonan IOM and specifically any connection they (Emily) has Sophia Terzah Kermode (b. abt. 1855, Lonan, d/o William Kermode and Anne (Quine) Kermode). I have recently transcribed Sophia's will (written 1910; probate 1916) wherein she identifies her "cousin" Emily, husband of Nicholas George Uren as a beneficiary.
I have a fair amount of info on the Uren's (e.g. Nicholas died in Liverpool in 1899; buried 4 Nov. 1899 at Lonan; several census records as well as baptisms/births for most of their children born between 1887 and 1899 (e.g. Fanny Elfreda, Madeline Victoria, Mary Gertrude Moore, Mildred Gill, Godfrey Sydney Palmer Hoskin). I also expect the Emily Uren buried at Lonan in 1856 age 78 (Lawson's Burials) is Nicholas' wife. Lawson's shows a marriage between an Emily Gill and Nicholas George Uren, 19 Nov 1855 at Lonan, with the 1861 and 1871 census indicating that Emily may be the daughter of James and Margaret Gill.
If Emily is a "true" cousin of Sophia Kermode and her maiden name was Gill I am at a bit of a loss how to "fit" her as a cousin to Sophia Kermode. Anybody have any information/suggestions?
I note there is an 1899 Will listed for Nicholas George Uren and one for 1861 for a William Kermode (not Sophia's father, he died in 1910; but perhaps a great uncle).
Any help would be appreciated
