Thanks, Brian. That's interesting about not accepting the Manx BMD site vol and number, but good news that they accept the parish and year as given there to obtain the cheaper price.

I'm guessing it's because the fiche scans on ManxBMD are sometimes so difficult to read that they were receiving incorrect refs. Or perhaps the index itself is sometimes wrong.
