Andreas village is spread out from a * crossroads by the school along a number of roads, a bit like a bicycle wheel. Ballacorey area was once a brickworks & is 1 mile south east of the central area on
the Andreas Road leading from Ramsey. * To get to the Lagagh East area you travel north on Bride Road to another crossroads & then go northwest to Smeale Road which leads east to Bride village.
There were there 3 cottages & a Smithy there once. Lagagh Moar was /is an area of swampy ground with pond/dubs handy for watering cattle in summer[about 3miles.] I suspect I was there a couple of
Sundays ago when Smeale Farm had an Open Day. It is kept as a wildlife area with additional modern planting & conservation.
I have used the McCambridge book to refresh my memory.[ You may remember I searched there at length for my Cormoad/Starkie/ Kerruish extended connections a couple of years back.]
The old series OS map of 1874 which matches Landranger 95 is useful for this type of search.
