if John Kewley sold the plots rather than rented out any houses then he should appear in many deeds - I havn't got to early 19th C yet in Onchan (which covers douglas) but the index to South Side Sales is on film tho the deeds are only held by Manx Museum - a deed would normally name him and his wife's name (not always her maiden name tho)
