in 1540 (extract from rent rolls quoted in "Rushen abbey + dissolution of the monasteries" IoMNH&ASoc monograph #1 p151) william McCasement, Patric Mc Cash and Gilbert Mc Casemement for three tenements and 1 quarter of land(footnote gives this as knockshamerk) 15s
the grange is down for 14s but no tenant, marked as lately of the abbey - these lezayre holdings discussed pp87-91
in appendix F of talbots translation of Man roll (online at MNB) cubbon quotes 1611 tenants but doesnt give names of farm however for 15s (not pence I made a transcription error in column) is robt casement down for 15s - a christ: carrett is down for 8s - a wm carrett for 14s ? is this the grange which is adjacent to knockshamerk or the Kella which in 1740 was given as 14s rent (see www.manxnotebook.com/gazateer/ablands/le1740.htm) whereas grainge quarter is down as 15s - the property records would I think repay more study
