I am trying to find a CHARLES QUAYLE for a friend of mine
.CharlesQuayle owned a piece of land in Peel - Patrick - it adjoined a piece of land owned by GEORGE PARSONS QUAYLE in 1871.,George's wife was Mary Butler Browne. George and Mary sold their land which was theirs under a marriage settlement to Thomas Watson,in 1887, (trustees did this for them, I have the deed), they sold to Watsons, later of shipbuilding fame, - this yard produced boats for "The Diamond King", - Joseph Mylchreest.
I have all of the history of G.P.Quayle, he died in the Isle of Wight in 1932 aged 88, leaving almost £7,000 pounds, a fortune in those days!.
I have found all of G.P.Quayle's children, they did well for themselves,
I have G.P.Quayle's parents, John Quayle (born 1794) and Margaret Frissell Tellett (her will is in Lawson's, - ( Quayle, Margaret Frissell ).
John Quayle was a Brewer and landowner (1841 census) in Castletown, so was his son G.P. Quayle, Castletown.
I can't find John Quayle's parents. I wonder if CHARLES QUAYLE was the father of John Quayle and the grandfather of George Parsons Quayle?. G.P,Quayle had siblings, maybe the person who "gifted" the land under the maririage settlement was a gt grandparent and gifted it to his offspring?.. John Quayle (b. 1794) and George Parsons Quayle were both born in Castletown, Malew. Where is the Peel/Patrick connection? The "Shipyard" is officially in Patrick, but it pays PEEL rates.
Any help or ideas as to where to start looking would be very much appreciated.
As always, any help gratefully appreciated, Best Regards, Susan Leece
