I hadn't picked up on the existence of a James Johnson on the Island around this time. I know of a James Johnson Creer born around 1818-1820 (from the census records)who subsequent DNA research suggests strongly was either illegitimate or adopted - within the family of an Edward Creer. The choice of his name suggests some sort of connection with a Johnson family. Are you able to throw any light possibly on this James Johnson Creer please?
