Thanks for the info and memory jogging. It would seem that the issue is still as unclear now as it ever was.
There is another searcher, Chris C, who is of this line that I corresponded with some yrs back and at that time none of us had it figured out. I'm hoping that Chris C is still active & checking this board and that he has figured out more of his line. I tried to contact his old email but it bounced.
I wonder if Patrick Landry ever found out more?

George C recently started delving into this family and all the questions arose again. He's researching Eliz b 1874 who may have md Robert Killey
I suppose it would help if someone could read the actual marriage record.

You also jogged my memory re Noreen Cottier--she was my first contact when I started IOM genealogy many yrs ago.
