Pleased to see I can post photos after all!

Can anyone help identify the man in this studio portrait? Again, the families he is expected to be connected with are Cavendish (doubtful), Collister, Clague, or Moore families. There is a McVey in the family who was a mariner and lifeboatman but I understood that these rarely learnt to swim, and anyway he had a big bushy beard. This looks to me like someone well-off enough to swim as a hobby.
