Looking for information about John Corkan [Corkin(s), Corken(s)] and his wife Mary Cannell.
They married at Jurby, May 28, 1803. Mary was born about 1780, and, according to her grave inscription, died in Mentor, March 18, 1859, age 79yrs 6m “Mary Corkins wife of John”.
No evidence that John emigrated and haven’t been able to locate a passenger list, but also haven’t found a burial for a John Corkan in Jurby. I don't find them in 1840 US census, but there are land transactions in Lake County, Ohio in 1834 and 1836. Mentor County Deeds before 1841 list two deeds to Corkins: June 20, 1834, Levi Bliss to John Corkin Vol 19:p. 216 Mentor; June 3, 1836 Levi Bliss to William Corkan Vol 22; p. 551 (Not sure, possibly these two deeds are to John and Mary’s sons, John and William.)
