Sorry I can't be of more help Sheila, I didn't even know Amelia had had a child. Relatives on the IOM have talked about her and how sad it was she died so young. John would have been a cousin of my grandmothers. I will let you know if I find out anymore info. I wonder if he emigrated.

This is the wording on Philip Clague's gravestone:

In loving memory of Philip Clague who died July 31 1870 aged 47 years.
Also of Amelia youngest daughter of the late Philip and Catherine Clague of Douglas and beloved wife of Joseph Pitts who died 27 April 1889 aged 25 years. (Then there is a poem which I can’t read). Also of Catherine wife of the above etc.
