Hello,
Does anyone have information about a William & Eliza Crowe and their family.
They were from the IOM and moved to Cleator, England, between 1878-1883.
On the 1891 Census they are listed as living at 42, Montreal Street, Cleator:
William Crowe, aged 50, Iron Ore Minor, Born IOM 1841
Eliza Crowe, aged 47, Born IOM 1844
Thomas Crowe, aged 18, Born IOM 1873
Jessie Crowe, aged 15, Born IOM 1876
Eleanor Crowe, aged 13, Born IOM 1878
Ada Crowe, aged 8, Born Cleator Moor 1883
Maggie Jane, aged 6, Born Cleator Moor 1885
Emma Crowe, aged 3, Born Cleator Moor 1888
Same goes for the 1881 cenus and they are still in Cleator on 1901 census.
It’s actually the daughter Eleanor Crowe that I am trying to find, as we believe her to be our Grandmother.
On the 1911 census, Eleanor’s place of birth is given as Laxey, Isle of Man.
If anyone has any information on this family, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lisa
