The Cain's Baffle Me!

Trying to find my Cain's has always been a big headache, but this Cain really has me baffled.

I am told by my late Grandfathers niece that my Cain's came from Camlork, Braddan. And tonight I recieved the Cain family tree dating back from 1650. And although I have only glanced at it, I cannot find a John Cain born in Union Mills who's father is said to be Robert.

I also have the Philip Cain obituary which says he took over Camlork from James Cowin in 1901,

So I checked out James Cowin and indeed he has had Camlork right back from 1871 and I cannot see on Ancestry my John or Robert..not even in Camlork Cottages, which makes me think I am barking up the wrong tree.

Could the marriage of John Cain, 1917, Isle of Man be wrong? As it does say the following (in this order):

John Cain, age 50, bachelor - father Robert, deceased, a carter.

Could it mean just father deceased and the Robert may be Johns very own son? Because he was a carter when he went to war in 1915.
