MI = Memorial inscription (e.g. what is written on a grave stone) - an MI does not guarantee a burial in the locality (tho usually this is the case) - a burial (for which there is a record see above) is not always reflected in a MI - in this case his MI, if it exists, might well be elsewhere - however does seem to imply his family were not is a position to move body back to England.
