A project has been underway here in Australia to commenorate the approximately 26,000 female convicts transported. This was mainly to collect 26,000 bonnets similar to those worn by convict women and other activities to create an ongoing memorial to these wommen, including Sarah LYNCHEY my GGG grandmothder who was sentenced at Castle Rushen.
Later this month there are a number of activities in County Down and other places in Ireland which may be of interest to descendents of female transportess on the Island.
