My Husbands family descend from a John James Skinner born on The Isle of Man, believed to have been born around 1862, moved to Australia sometime before 1886, when he married Beatrice Champion.

Does anyone know of this family or have an information that I may use to track our ancestors. We do not know when he arrived in Australia or why he came here.

There is a something about the name Thornton Skinner but noone knows what it was or where it came from just that the name had something to do with the family.
