Yes, it would be a big help to include birth place in the index, like Ancestry. FMP does allow a restricted search by birth place, but you have to be sure it is the one they are using - which isn't as simple as it sounds! I tried "Pettipher" no variants as an example, because there are not many of them, with birth place Sibford. 0 results. So I tried Sibford Ferris Oxfordshire, 0 results, then Sibford Ferris and got 3 results. Then Oxfordshire - 23 results, including the 3 from Sibford Ferris (although it didn't say so on the list).

It is the same with their searching by place, when a street name often gives "0 result" - yet when you search by the town and get an alphabetical list, there it is.
