This link takes Nick's ancestry back another generation to Simeon's father being John Clegg born in Adwalton, Yorks c 1803/1805 and was in Bradford in 1851 & 1861 as a cabinet maker and then a grocer. John was married to a Martha Sykes.

So there is still hope of a Manx connection as John's parentage has yet to be found it seems. Perhaps this is the generation which skipped the pond from IOM to England??
