Seeing as the subject of 'notification by email of a reply to your question' has arose, I would like to say that I have never received any such notification which does puzzle me a bit.

I have recommended people to this site but I have mentioned there is no email notification and the messages can be lost.

Can anyone enlighten me please about the 'notification process'.

I have just noticed before posting this message it says 'check this box for email notification', it does have a tick in the box.
