I live a few miles from the Callister ferry landing. I recently came across some of his writings (in an old book, not on line) in which Henry Callister describes difficulties he is experiencing with his neighbor over roaming cattle and pigs. as well as the work involved with operating the ferry (this is the only contemporary (ca 1760) reference I have ever seen to the ferry itself.) If you have any nfo on it I would love to see it. Callister reminds me of the Eastern Shore farmers live and work with today - stubborn, individualistic, and not ones to suffer fools (or city folk) lightly. I can send you some pictures of the Townside / Crumpton area that was known as "Callister's Ferry" from about 1756 until about 1890.
