Margaret Lawson 1852-97 was a sister of my gt Grandfather Rbt Lawson 1845-1912. She married John James Cowley 1859-1940 in 1889. There were 5 children, the first of whom was born before the marriage: 1) John Robert Lawson/Cowley 1884-1951; he went to Butte Montana in 1907 and ca 1911 married Katherine ? ~1886-1943; - 2 daughters - Jeanette 1912-97 m.Steve Maleyvac and Margaret ~1914-~80 married Vernon Jackson.
2) Vincent Alexander Cowley 1889-1927. Went to Butte Montana in 1911. Edith Walton 1893-1973 from Laxey joined him in Butte 1916 and they were married. They returned to the IoM by 1927. 2 sons Jms Hamilton Cowley 1917-88 amd George Walton Cowley 1919-?
3) Matthias Cowley 1891-1912 killed in accident Laxey Mines
4) Walter Cowley 1983-1957. also went to Butte Montana and died there. m. Annie Isobel (Belle) Looney ~1918 - 3 sons Vernon 1919-74; Walter Matthias 1921-2001; Bernard 1922-
5) Margaret Eleanor Cowley 1897- ? no more data.
John James Cowley re-married 1909, wife Florence Edith Annie Sloane als Moughton 1875-1953 and had a further 4 children - 1a)Thomas Cowley 1909-63 m. Kath Irene Creer - 2 extant daurs; 2a)George Cowley 1911-83 m. Jenny Crostan; 3a) Florence Emily 1912- ; m. ? Danboice in USA. 4a) James Matthias 1915- ; m.1939 Mgt Elizth Dowling.
