Don't know how to account for this random thought, but does anyone know anything about 'Auntie Cowley'? I have pictures of a very old lady in a long black dress and white sun bonnet taken in about the 1930s I think, some with a great aunt of mine, somewhere out in the countryside. I seem to remember my father saying she was some sort of local 'character' it was traditional to call on, auntie to no-one in particular.

I wouldn't have considered it was anything anyone could possibly help with until I remembered noticing a picture of her in a display at the Manx Museum - about tales around the fireside, or something.

Does anyone recognise the name? I haven't got any more information.
