Hello Frances
Many thanks for some expert assistance. Yes, the Ann KNEALE aged 11 at Ballakinnag in 1841 and 1851 I'm pretty certain is the correct one; she ended up marrying Thomas MOORE in 1870 at Kirk Michael, at this time her father is listed as John KNEALE a shepherd. Witnesses at the wedding were John COWLEY and Robert MOORE.
Re 1871 census, she was listed as a sister in law, possibly to Jane COWLEY the wife of John QUAYLE born 1814. Jane COWLEY is the daughter of John COWLEY and Catherine KAIGHIN.
I'm having trouble trying to work out the connections between the COWLEY'S and QUAYLE'S.
I did find a John KNEALE from Andreas whose father was Philip KNEALE but I'm a bit uncertain of this connection, especially seeing what I think may be glaring mistakes on Ancestry purely because people unfamiliar with the layout of the Island just grasp information.
I'd be interested to read what your 'suspicions' are; looking forward to hearing more from you.
Cheers
Denise
