A previous question on this topic provided a good deal of useful data, but there are some loose ends.

Edward Barnes born c1882) married Prudence Sarah James some time between 1902 and 1906, but location unknown. They had a daughter Dorothy May Barnes who was born im 1907, and later became a nurse. She was electrocuted in a hospital accident on 8 Sept 1933 ( I believe in the Channel Isles) and buried in DBC on 12 Sept 1933.

Eddie was chief engineer of the MER from 1922 to 1936 and manager from 1936 to 1952. He had worked for the MER prior to 1907, but spent some time in America from c1906.

Apart from Dorothy who died without issue, Eddie and Pru had at least one son Jack who became a professional photographer in Douglas and was active in the mid 1960s.

Can anyone give a DOB for Eddie Barnes (c1882 to 1952), parentage, or a date of marriage to Pru James. I have not been able to find any suitable entries via Brian Lawson's data.

The book I am working on about the MER is coming on very well, and getting the kinship to the Barnes family right was a great help. My motehr would have known chapter and verse, but I never thought to write it down, so all I knew was Joughin-Maley-James-Barnes, and that there was an Auntie Pru.
