I hope someone may be able to help. I am trying to clearly establish the family of William Cowen (Bapt 16.11.1755 Lonan) and Mary Fayle who married 27.8.1776 at Onchan. Two children are of interest: William born 18.6.1778 Onchan and Thomas born 1.10.1781 Onchan.

My queries are: Was the son the William that married Eleanor Clark at Braddan on 1.9.1801? Was this the Thomas that married Margaret Karran at Lonan in 1806?

I think, but do not know, that William is the source of the Mauritian/South African/Australian Cowin clan and Thomas the source of a South Australian/Victorian Cowin clan. I have considerable info on these families and am happy to share.

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.
