I've found my grandmothers marriage certificate it said her father is a george maxted. I have also looked through some old newspapers on the net and by the sounds of it my great grandmother was not married when she had my grandmother at least when is was in australia. I wonder if she may have married a george wright in the isle of man. Don't think I'm ever going to find that out.
