Thank you Jean - I do have all these characters but you have fine tuned some dates of birth and christening dates for me. I, too have Thomas Stowell, surgeon of Ramsey as the son of Rev Joseph Stowell 1772-1801 and Elizabeth LaMothe.
I think there is confusion around as In DJ Douglas' recent posting I can now see she has Hugh Joseph Stowell 1768 as his father. He was actually Joseph's brother and married Amelia Callow.
This is not my direct line but I have an interest as it is the only off-shoot of Robert Edward Craine's (surgeon) family to have any descendents.
